Chapter 142
Echo's of the Day

Echo’s of the day are gone

Shadow’s lengthen out to long,

Roosting sparrows settle down

Frost advances frozen gown.

Conifers in fading light

Contrast Autumn russets bright.

See the mist on layered hills

Feel the crispness of the chill.

Emerald grasses turn to gold

As the setting sun enfolds

Beneath horizons darkening

Milking herds are harkening,

Farmers on their weary way

Trudge to end this fading day.

Night advances like a shroud

Cottage hearth fires warm and proud.
