Chapter 141
Long Distance Kiss

Whisper to the telephone
All those dreams I dreamt alone,
All those nights I bled for thee
Those lonely dreams of ecstasy.

Tortured by the memory
Of moments missed when we were free,
Of walking down the avenue
With me three steps ahead of you.

I sit at home and stroke my cat
And wish that I was sitting at
The fire side, upon your knee
Warmly, snuggling, lovingly.

How I loved your rugged face
When tousled in a wind blown place,
Listened to your dulcet tone
When you thought, you sang alone.

I watched the brown light in your eyes
You caught me glancing, by surprise.
Mine melted when I saw your smile
Directed to another’s style.

I lay alone in my small bed
Wished my pillow shared your head,
Entangled in my eider down
Imagining your snoring sound.

Blowing this sweet kiss to you
Across a crowded avenue
God, I wish that I could say
My Dear, how was your day today?

So handsome at the village fair
I looked around and you were there,
My beating pulse lost all aplomb
I turned around..and you were gone!

Long distance kiss, Oh broken heart
No more shall I, my love impart,
My spurned embrace I’ll throw away
To resurrect, perhaps some day ?

 Giving up, I turned around,
The door bell rings, I open…Frown!!
Before me stands my hansome chap
….”Pardon Miss, Is this your cat ?”
