Comrades
Author: J. A. Ashmore

Chapter 3
peace at last

peace is the only thing known by the dead

I walk between the countless white crosses

a wreath in hand

the warm wind is gentle

and the autumn leaves dance

peace for the fallen

a flag waves softly in the distance

the flag we all fought for

all die for in the end

as i reach the grave

i kneel down

and place the wreath

for my comrades

a final salute

see you around boys
