Chapter 127

Terrrifying trackless-ness

Flying blind at night,

Lost, erratic legions

Fumbling for their sight.

Travelling back in history

Primitives in skins

Made their way from cave to creek

By torchlight, saving shins.

Tickling the ivory’s

Fugues aplenty played

Bach utilized his torchlight

For night recitals staged.

And the Anzacs at Gallipoli

All huddled in the trench

Playing cards by torchlight

Despite the putrid stench.

Over tormented terrain

Make your way by feel,

Sightlessness is dangerous

When the hazards there are real.

Illuminate the gloom friend,

Ignite the signal flares,

Set the world ablaze in light

To prove that someone really cares.

Torchlight is the answer

Bathe the path in glare

White light ever after

Will guide you safely there.

Torchlight has convenience,

Torchlight has panache,

Torchlight used judiciously

Is not perceived as rash.

Need to travel after dark?

Be prudent how you go

Take a torch to see the way

Torchlight ….Now you know!
