Chapter 19
Found secret

My mood soon changes when I get home. Daddy is waiting for me holding a piece of paper. My heart sinks as I realize what it is.
"What the hell is this?" he screams at me, pulling me into the front room.
"It's, er, a poem but I haven't hand..."
He cuts me off by giving me a punch in my stomach.
"You told someone!"
"No Daddy, I swear, I never handed it in".
He doesn't believe me. He punches me a few more times and then takes off his belt.
"No Daddy! Please, not that!"
Through the anger in his eyes, I can see almost glee and satisfaction like this is the perfect excuse to hit me again.

This time, he makes me take off my shirt and jumper, revealing my bare back for the whipping.
"I'm sorry", I scream as he sends the first hit down hard.
It feels like a thousand pin pricks hitting me at once. I scream and he hits me another three times.
Then he grabs me upstairs still half naked and drops me into the bath. I wonder what he's going to do to me and then I find out. He turns the hot water up full blast and forces my head under it. It's boiling and it feels like my skin is burning off. Then he makes me lie down so my throbbing back is hurt again.

After what seems like hours, he turns the tap off and hauls me out, shoving me in my room and locking the door. I can't move with the pain covering every inch of my body. The only thing that doesn't hurt is my tongue as I kept my mouth shut through the whole thing. I'm still dripping wet but I lie on my mattress anyway hoping this will help my back. I close my eyes and wish I had thrown the paper away. He had quite literally found the secret.
