Chapter 1
Moon angels

All within 24 hours I learned that my best friends were immortal. They were Moon Angels. Adeline Vinalese, my bestie and soul sister told me about her kind through a series of texts during Mr. Glasset's Language Arts class. She informed me abou her and Matt's past incarnations, Shadow Walkers, everything. It was a lot to take in and by the end of class I couldn't control my laughter. Thankfully, the bell saved me before the slimy ass of a teacher could confront me. PE was a mess, I met my first Shadow Walker while running stupid oversized laps under Ms. Gross' watchful eye. Eredessa was her name and it was an epic fight. She, apart from Ms. Gross and other minor injuries, was the only one to leave wounded.

So we all talked at Addy's house about Shadows until I brought up the subject of Halloween. Moon Angels must have whacked up time because they were all confused upon the topic. The weirdest thing was that Matt was acting oddly formal. Normally, everyone called Aden's little sister Izz but that was different today. Matt was using the reasoning that her and Adeline were preparing for changes but Addy didn't buy it. So she dragged him inside and raised voices were soon heard upstairs.

"Soo..." I started, "Who's this Simon dude? Is he a Moon Angel in your coven too?"

Slowly Jenn replied, "He is an Angel but from a different coven." I nodded in comprehension then laid down looking up at the sky. My eyes fluttered and I fell into a light sleep.
