Chapter 42

He asked me to go to a party? How bad can it be? Wow, very stupid question.
I picked out a pair of knee length shorts and a purple v-neck graphic tee. I brushed my hair and put in my contacts. James won't let me wear my glasses.
I grabbed my purple converse and put them on. I looked at James and grew wide eyed. I mean, I've seen him with out a shirt before but this was something else. "Like what you see?"
I rolled my eyes and walked into the living. My phone vibrated and I saw it was my mom. "Hey."
"I see you're in a good mood. Not trying to kill James anymore?"
"Nope. We worked it out."
"Is my baby no longer a virgi-"
"No! I mean yes. We haven't done anything like that. Why are you calling me?"
"Well, we're stopping by Friday to talk about the wedding."
"I thought that wasn't until the summer."
"It isn't. But it's May. And the summer's only around the corner." I could hear the grin on her face. "Well, have fun with what ever it is you're doing. Bye!"
"Bye." I closed the phone and stuffed it into my pocket. I sighed and waited for James to come out. After about twenty minutes, he came out in a pair of jean capirs and a baby blue button up shirt. "Only took a million years."
He laughed. "What ever."
We drove for a little and listened to a lot of music. The song Billionaire came on and I sang the whole thing. ".... Oh I wanna be a billionaire. So frickin bad." I laughed. "Oh my gosh! I love that song!"
"I can see that."
"Oh shut up! You know I can sing."
He started cracking up. "Sure. And my name is Kyle."
"Well I'm not kissing you. I only kiss James. Kyle." I smiled and he rolled his eyes.
We pulled up to the house which was covered in kids drinking, making out, and passed out on the bushes. "This really isn't my scene."
"You'll be fine."
I nodded and walked in. When we got there, guess who was there. Candy herself. I ignored her and walked in with James. "I'm gonna get something to drink. Want something?"
"Not really." I smiled and he walked off. I sighed and walked back to the car. He would notice I was gone and come back to get me.
After an hour I was beginning to get worried. A girl my age walked over to me and smiled. "Hi, I'm Kelsy."
"Hi... I'm Isabelle."
"You get dragged here too?" I gave her a confused look. "Kyle's my brother. He made me come 'cause he had to baby sit."
I nodded and after a fourty five minute conversation, we walked inside and everyone was grinding and dancing and just not pg-13 stuff.
I found Kyle and he was with his friends. "Hey Kyle, have you seen James?"
He looked at me wide eyed and tried to walk away. I walked in front of him and looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please. I'm worried, I just want to see him."
"Look, he drank a lot and-"
"Where is he?" He sighed and walked me upstairs.
"Remember, he may be drunk and-"
I opened the door and saw him on the bed. His clothes were on the floor and so were... Candy's. My eyes filled with tears. "I hate you both!" I looked at Kyle and took off my ring. "Can you give this back to him? I won't be needing it."
"Is, he didn't do it on purpo-"
"What ever." I dropped the ring in his hand and walked to the car. Luckily, I had the keys. I got in and drove all the way to the condo. I didn't want to see or deal with anyone. I was done. I knew from the start that this was a bad idea.
