Tears & Heartbreak

Chapter 4

I'd only known Jasper for a couple of hours, and already I decided that I hated him. I knew Axel was amazing, but Jasper knew he was my boyfriend. If he was going to flirt with him, he could at least have to courtesy to do it while I wasn't there. Thank God Axel didn't seem to like him either. We walked home together at the end of the day, as per usual. "Hey, come in for a bit?" He asked.

"Sure, babes," I smiled and kissed him on the cheek, then followed him to Tate's flat. It was in a tower block about a thousand yards from school. Axel took me into the flat and then to his room.

We sat cross-legged on his bed, both of us, holding onto each others hands. "So that new kid. Proper weido, eh?" I said, kissing his forehead.

"Don't be mean, babe," He replied. "I know what it's like to be a social outcast."

"Do you like him?" I asked, my heart thumping in nervousness. Axel smiled.

"No. But don't be mean to him," I was glad to hear it. He lay down on the bed, pulling me with him, and kissed me. "I love you, sweetheart."

"I love you too," I replied, snuggling up to him gratefully. His arms were around my waist and his hand up the back of my shirt. His fingers were cool against my warm back, but it wasn't unpleasant. I smiled.

He always knew how to make me melt. He made shapes on my back with his fingertips and kissed my neck. I shuddered, moaning quietly in pleasure. "Fuck, babe, you know how to turn a guy on, don't you?" I said, gasping.

"Sure do," He said, his lips moving against the joint between my neck and shoulder. "God, you're so sexy."

"Liar," I brought him up to my lips and kissed him. "I love you. I love you so much."

"I love you too," He replied, between kisses. His hands slid down from my back to my legs. He rubbed my thigh gently. I pushed my fingers through his thick hair. I just wanted to stay like this forever.

I had to go home around five-ish. Stevie came to pick me up. She smiled at me as I got into the car. "Thank you," She said. "For doing what you did for Damon."

"No problem," I grinned back. "Though, it was Carrie's idea."

"Yeah, well, you helped. And I've never seen him happier," She said. "Not that he's really had much reason to be happy. His stepdad..."

"Yeah, I know. He told me," I said, sighing.

"Mm. He told you?" She raised one eyebrow. "Wow. Apparanetly it took him months to tell even the Social Workers about... well, you know."

"Well he saw me and Axel kissing. Thats why he knew before anyone else," I shrugged. "He freaked out. I guess he just wanted to explain why."

"He really looks up to you, you know," Stevie surprised me.

"Me? Why?"

"Because, you might come across as the hard man, but we all know you're soft as butter really," She smiled. "You're sweet with him, gentle. Caring. And he's not used to that from guys older than him."

"How d'you know all this?"

"I'm the closest thing to a mum he's got right now. He tells me everything." She smiled at me. I couldn't help feeling weirdly proud of myself.

I had no idea he respected me like that.
