Chapter 9
A fool for flowers *A poem for Maiah Swigert*

A petal

drops

to

the

ground

He loves me not

I'm such a mess

I reach down for my next

My flower that will reveal my destiny

The flower that will predict me being happy

But the flowers are bent

and they're bare

then I see a single daisy

waiting for me, behind the oak tree

I pick and pluck at it's petals

Then I think...

What's wrong with me?

Asking a flower if he still loves me?

I drop the flower and walk away

I drop the flower and leave it astray

I look back and what do I see?

That flower says.... He never loved me
