Chapter 17
Out Of The Sewers: T I M E

Kiara stared at the stars through the sewer grate. She couldn't remember how she got here, but she could rememebr small things. Small memories, like who'd taken care of her the whole while. She rememebred her Mom and I, watching through the grate, almost like she was now, only then, her Mom was telling her about the different constellations. Her heart    woukld beat slowly as her Mom pointed to the stars, saying that they were simply angels glowing brightly. And Kiara would simply nod. Now, when the other kids made fun of her, she simply remembered those nights. And as she went to sleep, she always dreamed that she was holding a star, an angel.

But still, the words of the other kids echoed into her dreams, breaking the fragility of it. "You ain't got your trashtalking mama to protect ya no more, how come you still here?"
