Chapter 98
About Deano for Maree

Born into adversity

He struggled to be alive,

Reliant on his mother's love

And his father's humour to survive.

Being blue when pink is right,

A chicken chest expands to fight,

Finding strength from evening's light,

Missing Reyn at darkest night,

Enjoy the ring of laughter bright,

Finding fun from deepest plight,

This busy boy is outa sight

And Path Metheney's jazz is right!

All qualities that make the man,

Endearments we all understand,

In the memories of recent years

Filtered through this veil of tears.

Deano has departed,

He's off sailing seas with Reyn

I can hear the chortle of their laughter

As they share the things of men.

As you walk along the shoreline

The waves surging at your feet,

Cast your eyes out to the distant sail

And feel the pangs of bittersweet

For there is tenderness in parting,

A mother's tear drops fall like rain

But the warmest consolation

Is that those funny boys are one ...again!
