Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 16
Did I Tell You

My own mind never ceases to depress me. I worry, I twist, I turn and I burn. Haha, I think I like that rhyme. Anyway, I feel obligated to continue writing poems about my Aphrodite, no matter how mediocre they are. This is number . . . six? Maybe it is six. This is at least my fourth written about her. This time, I have preserved a very specific detail. This poem was finished on the night of July 19th, 2010 at exactly 9:29 PM, and it's titled Did I Tell You

Did I tell you I love you today?
Did I tell you you're everything today?
That I couldn't walk without you
That I couldn't go on
On this day I'll make sure you know
On this day I'll make sure you're not alone
Did you see that star soar by?
Did you see me wish for you?
Now I just need you to know
Every moment away
Almost feels like days
Every second together
Almost lasts forever
