the world within me
Author: Ella

Chapter 2
The wind took not my sadness

The wind took not my sadness

As quiet as the wind would blow

As scary as the shiver

As dark as all one night’s in shadow

Down my soul it sent a quiver

I looked again back and forth

Where had the wind taken me

Where was this place in morning broken

As I hid beneath a tree

The shadows were there as dawn did shine

The wind blew cold and yet still

The withered petals clothes of mine

And river streams my thirst did fill

Where was the wind gone again

Away to dusk it has flown

Took neither my grief nor my pain

Not once it did as it had blown

No one was there all alone

To share my loneliness

I sat upon a moulded stone

And cried with much sadness

Where were the wind and the shadows still

Across the river over the nile

Had I went against its will

When sunshine broke and gave me a smile
