the world within me

Chapter 76
dangerous prayer

Dangerous prayer

I searched the depths of my heart

To see if I could find

The willingness to go

And give up what is mine

But I waded in the shallow

And feared the darkness looming

Then there I knew

My flower was not blooming

I was hiding from mankind

Hiding the treasures I’ve been given

Denying all my talents

Each part of me was woven

I search the shallow of my heart

And look into His palm

Place it in my hands

I read each crying psalm

The hollow of His hand

Was large enough to hold

All my worrying fears

Insecurities untold

I watch the people bow down

Send me they cry out loud

But my knees refuse to buckle

My eyes refuse to cloud

My heart hold back hidden

I labour in the dim light

But all will come to nothing

I was blind refusing sight

I searched the depth of my heart

It was empty as my fears

There was nothing I could offer

Nothing but misplaced tears

I know He doesn’t want this

All He longs for is me

And such committed devotion

Would truly set me free

Can I go that far I wonder

Will I not break down and cry

Am I willing to say those words

Am I ready to live after I die

Send me people cry

Search me people say

Lead me people preach

Break me I must pray
