Chapter 11
Create Boundaries

Do you know that when we cross an inner boundary we are sinning against ourselves.

The boundaries we create in our lives are so important that crossing them pains us.

God gives us the boundaries we need to survive but as we go through our

Christian walk it is important to take some time out to write down situations

in your life  that you need to create boundaries for.  For example, if you’re in a

situation where your boss asks you to lie, you have to say that you wont do that

for him.  Or if you feel tempted to have a day off when you’re not sick,  it’s easier to

resist this temptation if you have already decided that you wont fall for that

temptation  when it comes your way.

Set out boundaries in your life and when you come to these boundaries you

wont want cross them.

If you have a tendency to get angry, create a boundary in your life

that causes you to leave the room or situation that’s causing the anger to

bubble up inside of you.  If a child’s being naughty, leave the room for a few minutes.

If you have a tendency to spend too much, create a boundary

where you make yourself accountable to someone else for what you spend.

Once you have written down and created boundaries you have a tangible set of

rules in your life that you can live by.  I suggest that these boundaries are

based on the Word of God because His boundaries and rules are the best way to go!
