Chapter 12
Dave's Message

You wear the hard hat like a badge

Your steel caps are a sheild,

The orange vest your armour

In a very dangerous field.

You have pride in your endeavours

You are part of a good team,

You apply your skills judiciously

Noting hazards you have seen.

Construction work is hazardous

In every job, in every way,

Each application safely made

Contributes to your day.

To take short cuts is dangerous

Haste can bring you down,

Procedure followed properly

Will remove the boss's frown.

If you skin your knuckles badly

Or punch the reo through your shin

Write the incident report at once

Or risk the dreadfull wrath of him.

Who tolerates no bullshit,

Who expects a quick return

Who will come down like a ton of bricks

On the fool who doesn't learn.

A short poem of support for our Superintendant of Civil Works, Dave Pratt in his

effort to get the message across to rank and file.
