the world within me
Author: Ella

Chapter 42
Warnings

warning hear
a distant cry
if only i could
deny

she sat behind me pushing on
and told me who to trust
she said she loved me very much
her judgments fair and just

she'll betray you someday soon
just you wait and see
but sure you can stop the event
if you listen to me

my friend how could i turn my back
when i had loved her so
and all this while she has been true
how could i not know

naive was i and guillable
i believed everything
but my heart would never give up
a friend under my wing

she earned my trust way back then
when things were still a fresh
and all this while i denied
she took used me like thrash

i can't believe your words like that
yet i never will find out
until i'm hurt so badly
though i had no doubt

i cannot live in this world
with a heart of solid ice
for all those who like me
label me as nice

there's nothing more to me
then an open book
pages flipping fast
for everyone to look

everyone can read me
my secrets and disasters
but still a hidden message
that makes matters worse

life is just too much
complication to bear
i want to discern for myself
and to live without a care

that perhaps one day she'd turn
her gentle back on me
but till that day draws near
i will never be free

free from the worry of sorrow
the trust she can betray
but duty calls that i must love
my enemies anyway

so warn me as you wish
and tell me who's not nice
i will be on my guard
but not a heart of ice
