Lemon meringue pie

3 lemons 

1 1/2 cups water plus 1/3 cups water

1 1/2 cups sugar 

1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon cornstarch 

1/8 teaspoon salt

6 large egg yolks 

4 large egg whites

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1/4 cream of tartar

1 pie dough for custard pies baked and cooled 

1 zesting and juicing the lemons

2 preheat the oven to 325 degrees

3 making the lemon filling 

4 making the meringue 

5 filling the pie shell

6 baking the pie 

7 cooling the pie
