Chapter 60
Caravans on Canvey Island

Nan and grandad mum and dad
I tell of a dream that all four had

To buy a couple of new caravans
And spend lovely weekends by the sands

As a kid I dreamed along with them
It was never "if" it was only "when"

What dreams I dreamt what fun I had
Caravanning with me old mum and dad

We rented vans from time to time
Memories of Guinness and lager and lime

Heavy rain dancing on a thin tin roof
Happy days and that's the truth

None of us ever got to buy that van
I could right now I know I can

But I think and wait until I die
Then go to Howard's caravan park in the sky .....
