Chapter 11
Saving Pvt. Zion

My face was full of fear. Zion was gone in such a time like this. Nolan had no Idea on what to do. “Why the hell would somebody want Zion? He didn’t do anything.”, he said freaking out. Ruby propped up. “Oh my god!”, she said eyes wide open. “God damnit Ruby speak! Oh my god what?!”, Michael said. Ruby looked right into Michael's eyes with a serious look on her face. “The Ancestors! They took him! They’re trying to get information out of him. Info about us!”, she said terrified. “If we don’t get there in time and get him out-” “WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!”, I said fearfully. Ruby sighed. “They might even kill him.”
I woke up in a very dark room. “What the hell?” I said as I hit my head on the top of a car trunk. I began panicking and thrashing around on my side as I felt the car come to a stop. “Help get me out of here! Someone god damn it here me!”, I said screaming for my life. The man in the black hoodie appeared as he pulled up the boot of the car. “Oh I heard your cries my friend, but I’m afraid that your friends may not hear.”, he said scornfully. “Fuck you! What the hell do you want from me?” “Answers.”, he said as he pulled me out of the car and threw me on the ground. “God about what!”, I screamed. He began dragging me into an old prison. What the hell are you trying to do with me?!”, I hollered. “Why are you taking me here?!” "We have been taking refuge in abandoned areas away from those things." Yes and we are trying to develop them now hold still you bastard!”, he said.
He continued to drag me. "We planned several missile strikes in the city. All we got to do is keep expanding." My eyes lit up. Missile strike. Holy shit did he say missile strike?! "You bastards!", I said as I tried to attack him. "It's all your fault! He's dead because of you!" He pushed me off and and stood up. "That's it kid! You're dead!", he hollered as he dragged me into the prison.

Nolan and I were starting on our trip to the Ancestors hideaway. Nolan stole a car, so now we’d be able to get the Ancestors faster. ”Fucking slow down Nolan!” I said “No! We’ve already lost way too many people I won't let us lose another!” he said. “So Maybe you should slow down so we don’t die!” “God Damn it! Why Zion!”, I said unsure. ”Because they are assholes haven't you realized this yet” he said. Yes, they were assholes indeed, but I still saw no reason to take him. What the hell did he do? ”Maybe he didn’t do anything and they are just doing this as leverage, so that they can rule the world” I said “What are you talking about Nathan?” he said. “I’m not sure if it’s the world they want”, he said. “The only thing anyone wants in these times is survival. Besides there is barely anyone left to rule.
We got out of the car and stopped at one of the convenient stores along the way. “Yes!” I said as I got out of the car. We sprinted into the store and raided the shelves. Beef jerky and other snacks lay piled on the floor. I began pulling pound after pound of beef and Gatorades into my backpack. “Hell yeah!” Nolan said loudly as we took the food back to the car.
We were back on the road on our quest to seek out our missing friend. “Do you think we’ll get there in time?” I asked him. He looked at me and turned away. “No idea. We’ll get there when we get there.” I sat back and looked out the window as ruined buildings passed us by. “Yeah”, I said. “We’ll get there soon.”

“No! No! No! No! You can’t do this to me! Fuck! Let me go! Get your hands off me you bastards! Noooooooooooo!”, I screamed as they strapped me on to the table. “What are you going to do to me?!” The man looked at me. “Tell us! Where is the protectors hideout?”, he said as he shoved his head in my face. “Never in a million years! Now fuck off!”, I said boldly. To show I meant it I spat in his face. “Ugh!”, he said in disgust as he wiped away the saliva. “That’s it you little punk! You're going to get it!” He pulled out some hot glue guns and began heating them up. “What are you going to do with those?!”, I said laughing. He stared at me with a deceiving smile on his face. “Oh. You’ll see as he pulled out the glue guns and pulled them towards my body. “Oh god! No!”, I screamed as he began applying glue onto my naked eyeball. “God, get it off! Someone help! Ahhhhhhh!” “Where is the hideout!”, he screamed. “I told you! I’m never telling! You’ll have to kill me first!”, I said. A grin began forming on his face.
He ripped me off the table and began dragging me to a different room. “Oh god! Where to now!”, I hollered while trying to cry. I could barely see because they had hot dried glue stuck on my eyeballs. “Sorry, but I have to kill you to get the answer.” He began strapping me into the electric chair. ”OHHH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT NO NO NO NO” I screamed trying to break free.
"Were here!" I screamed with joy. Me and Nolan ran to the the front of the building. “Damn it! The door is locked!" he said panicked. I pulled out the shotgun and shot the lock. The room was dark and creepy. “God! Why would anyone choose out of all places here.”, I wondered. “No idea”, said Nolan looking for a route to find zion. I took out my flashlight and shined it in the room and found a hallway.
Just then a screaming noise was heard. It rang through our ears and chilled us to our bone, because of how familiar it sounded. It was Zion’s. We started to run over to where we thought the scream was coming from. We found were it was coming from, but it was not the place we expected it to be, we thought it would be a torture room. We got to find out that it was just the security room. I then shot the man watching Zion’s execution and Nolan ran over to the computer try and find out where he was. That was when we saw him on one of the cameras tightening up, foam dripping from his mouth. “Son of a bitch!” I screamed. “Zion!” I ran to down the hall and up the stairs to the room he was held captive in. I reached for the handle, but it was locked. I grabbed my axe and began chopping down the door. “Nathan a faster way would be shooting the door knob” Nolan said. We charged in the room “You bastard!” I screamed as I shot the man straight in the chest. I ran for the switch and pulled it down. Zion fell over with his eyes closed. “Get him out now!” Nolan screamed. We began pulling off the leather straps around the arms and the legs. When I pulled him out of the chair Nolan checked his pulse. “God dammit we need to get him to a hospital!” Nolan screamed. I Started to pick him up when I saw Nolan bolt out of the room. “Nolan!” I screamed. He stopped and said “ The car can fit through the hallways.

I kept sprinting out to the car. When I got to the car I put the keys in the ignition, but the car didn’t start. I began jamming my foot on to the pedal and the engine began to rev. I pulled the throttle back out of parking and drove straight through the hallway. “Get in Nathan!” I screamed. He picked Zion up, through him over his back, and ran to the car. He lay Zion in the back and we began driving. “Damn it Nolan! Faster!” he hollered. I looked at him strangely. “Well that’s a first,” I said as I pushed down on the pedal.
