Chapter 4
Dream come True

It was a turtle, maybe four months old holding a ticket in its mouth. It was a dream come true, a ticket to the outer reaches of town, to Outskirt Station. Outskirt station was in Kings town the closest town to the wilderness.

Brooke bet if she traveled far enough away from Kings town she would be able to find a hill with a lake next to it. It would be great, she and Shadow could live there forever. Brooke could run away chasing her dreams.

"When are we going?" she asked. "Wednesday," Jorden answered smiling "we're taking the train to Outskirt station, then heading to the Elden Motel, right next to the forest of Elden". "And any farther than the forest of Elden is the middle of nowhere" Brooke whispered to herself wiggling on the bench. "What was that?" Jorden said, "Nothing" Brooke answered.

"Come on guy's, time to go" Ms. Kelly called up to them from the bottom of the bleachers. She had long brown hair that reached past her shoulders which blended in with her beautiful brown eyes. Shawn picked up the turtle and but it in a plastic box with holes punched in the top. The bottom of the box was lined with sand and there was a bit of fruit in a cup.

Shawn put the box back in his backpack and started running down the stairs.  Jorden followed him.  Brooke looked up at the rising sun. "I'll be there soon" she whispered, and ran down the stairs after Jorden and Shawn.
