Chapter 6
The Ferry at Merry Lake

“Wake up! We have to go! The ferry is leaving!” I heard a women scream as I woke up. An infinite amount of voices out loud were screaming to me. “Wake up!” and another, “Ferry! Leaving! You must come!” I couldn't tell what they were saying, but it was along the lines of that. I opened my eyes and saw that I was laying on a pile of hay, right in front of water. There was a ferry ahead of me, and people were waving towards me. I was wearing a hoodie and jeans. It looked like everyone on the ferry were partying and having fun. They were screaming for me to join. Ashley was the voice who woke me up. She was smiling and dancing, gesturing me to get on the ferry.

I walked up to the ferry and smiled back at her. I didn't see her cabin anywhere in sight. It was daytime again though. The people in the ferry had glasses with beverages tipped to the rim. It looked like they were all drinking some form of alcohol. Even Ashley had a beverage. I walked up to the ferry and someone immediately helped me up onto it. Ashley ran over to me and gave me a big hug, and I was dumbfounded. This confused me so much, but I just went with it. I grabbed a drink and began dancing to the beat of the music that I just noticed was playing. I chugged my drink down and dropped it. The glass shattered against the wood flooring, and several people looked at me.

I began to feel intoxicated, but I didn't say anything. I knew that I was already drunk. I was having fun, and nobody could stop me. I didn't understand exactly how this was happening... But it didn't matter. Ashley walked over to me after about what seemed like forever. “Hey, are you having fun?” She yelled. “I was wondering if you wanted to have even more fun? You know, like, drugs?” I was utterly confused. “Um, I don't think that's a good idea, Ashley. I think we need to go back to your cabin. You aren't sounding like yourself.” I burped and fell to my knees. The people dancing around me ignored my helplessness, but Ashley coaxed me to my feet. “Alright, alright. Chill out, I'll help you.”

Her eyes widened and mine did too. Everyone around me turned into a gigantic undead like figure. Everyone was now screaming as they changed. I stayed normal, and so did Ashley. I watched the horrified faces of the partygoers change from human to the monster. “Oh my god!” Ashley exclaimed. “They're...” She began. “They're what?!” I screamed as one chased after me. I ran as far as I could, and Ashley was running with me. They were surrounding us. “They're Lorelei's minions!” I remembered that Lorelei was the devil Kione's wife. I didn't think anything would happen. I didn't think that she'd come after us. I thought she was just there for a moral principle.
