Lost and Surfacing
Author: BeanieGirl123

Chapter 81
Crime

Rustling anonymity like blank eyes in the window
They scare me
They scare me
Creeping up my back with steamy breath
Too light to be harmless
Anticipating words lingering on pale, cracked lips
Scandalous green, swaying fingers on my ankles
A crescent moon
Plain as the next door neighbors
Shining on the water
One too many ripples
A splash crying out
A prediction of the inevitable
