Chapter 17
Blue Bird

Locked away and imprisoned
Rests and elegant blue bird
Perched upon the bark
Proud and glorious
Despite the bars surrounding her
A girl in black from head to toe
She thinks of death and nightmares
So innocent and pure is the bird
Yet the girls, she feeds on trouble
Hiding her fear and blindness from the world
Her tread is light and footsteps wary
Pauses in between the lines
Hold unspoken words better left that way
She hides them in greed and guilt
The blue bird chirps her haunting song
Of that misfit of a girl
Not entirely sane
But entirely broken
Better left locked away untouched
Battered to a bare pulp
By words only existent in her mind
The birdís thoughts are cleansing
Far away from reaching the girlís
Misunderstood and alone
Might the blue bird take over?
