the world within me
Author: Ella

Chapter 93
Race through my forest

My life is like a race
Fleeting moments that drag
My story is not so simple
As riches from the rag

Fragments of broken glass
Mirror the sorrowful image
Iím always feeling down
My tender heart is damaged

I wish for love within my family
That the shouting doubting would cease
And somehow weíll settle together
And find a calming peace

Iíve lived to see death up front
And struggle to lose so many
Iíve been to see the funeral
Iíve never been truly happy

I race each day through the forest
Thoughts rushing like my feet
I wish to block them out
Where the mud road and trees meet

I may seem like a happy girl
With great hope and laughter
But sometimes I cry out
And wish my life was better
