Chapter 148
Lavender Blue

Soft tones of lavender

Mute shades of blue,

Melding together

To mesmerize you.

Found in the florets

Which make up the spray

Of dried hydrangea

In the blue pot display.

Picked on a mountain side

Misted by rain,

Late Autumn leafage

In lovely refrain.

Artfully nestled

In beautiful fern,

Artfully framed

By a grey, craggy burn.

Found by chance

On a good moment’s whim,

A delight in discovering

Loveliness in,

A forgotten place

At a forgotten time

And her gasp of amazement

Which made it sublime.

This cherub smile

On my darling’s face,

With the lavender blue

In her firm embrace.

With the knowledge of

That special spot

That special light,

That willow pot.

In harmony,

In perpetuity,

In memories of

Mist mountains green

And rapture felt

For treasures seen.
