Chapter 12
A Future Never Told

"Alright, we aren’t entirely sure if this is how yer vision will work out but I say we go for it!" we had been walking slowly back to my house with the idea that if we went back, we could get everything back to normal, or at least as normal as my vision I had. So far I hadn’t said a thing since I agreed to go with her, and that just made not telling her what I saw in my vision, unbearable. I finally gave up my silence once I saw how hard she was trying to help me, when I had my vision I wobbled and then leaned on her too much and we fell over, she didn’t question why, all she did was help me until I was up for walking again.

"Hey…um…Chris?" I was having third thoughts about telling her, but I wasn’t going to stop now, I had to tell her, that’s what she’d want…right? "Chris…a few moments ago, when I…"

"Wait, What?"

"No, I…I don’t like hearing a future concerning me, especially if it’s this hard for ye to tell me."

"Even if it involved ye getting killed or beaten?!"

"I say let my future be what it’ll be, no sense changing it." I stared at her for a good minute or so before I relented and looked away, the whole time she just stared ahead as if she could die right then and there and be content with it. I then pondered what she said, let my future be what it’ll be, no sense changing it, what if yer future leads ye or yer loved ones to death, do ye challenge it then?

"Chris, how are ye so optimistic about yer future? When considering it could end in the blink of an eye, I just can’t wrap my head around it at all."

"Kaine…think of time as not on some line that goes on and on starting with the past and ending in the future, think of it as if it’s everywhere, in the past, present, and even future. Time is a mixture of everything put together, whether it is in the present or not, we already have a preordained life and death and all ye can do is steer it a little differently, but in the end it always ends the same way, death."

"But what if ye could change it completely to a new future, a better one?" this time she gave it a little thought before answering me.

"I wouldn’t do it…mainly for the soul purpose of messing with a good thing I like or messing up fated encounters that only happened because of something tragic…" she leaves it at that and I notice that she blushed and was looking the opposite way, I thought nothing of it at the time. Once we had finally come upon my house my mam and da were both waiting outside looking in our general direction, oddly enough they looked different already to me, like I had never once seen them before in my life. I walked past them without a word and they didn’t try and stop me, Chris on the other hand was stopped at the door and ushered outside to talk. I carried on in a shuffle mode, thinking about the one topic that seemed to be surrounding every single thing now a days, time, why was I mixed with it and who was to blame. I stopped and thought about the future me in my vision, I was older and wiser most likely, but one thing bothered me, what would happen to me now? Do I go on this quest and get killed, or did doing this make me become a templar, or will it make me into a blood thirsty killer seeking revenge for some unknown death soon to come, all I knew for sure was that my life was never going to be the same.
