Chapter 7

I did not care to be responsible.  A hard man tried to teach me.  He went so far as forcing it upon me.  That only steered me away from it even more.   My natural father Randy Giddens gave it a shot but like I said I was rebellious.  He was kind and fair with me.  He tried to talk to me but I would not hear it.  I thought I heard enough and seen enough to make it on my own and once I have something in my mind.  It takes an act of God to change it.

God is willing to help you, but why use force.  Time to man up and treat people with respect.  If you have no respects for the man then why try to be better?  The current president can’t give respect in case the Teleprompters on.  If you have any morals at all then you either put them to practice or shut up.

Most of the children growing up now the parents are taking care of them.  If it was not for my mother and father taking care of me after the accident I would probably be another statistic that committed suicide.  I want to be able to be on my own.  I have to face the facts of life.  I have a bad habit of letting my alligator mouth overload my bird dog butt.  If it was not for the support of my parents and family I would be homeless.  Even with the troubles in life I have to deal with.  I still think I am doing a better job at being a responsible man than most of the newer generation that is growing up in America today.

I have studied the bible for years.  I have not studied it like a preacher or priest.  The words have been in my mind since I regained consciousness from my first accident.   Of course I have put it behind me and tried to ignore my conscious.  It was always in my mind and I could not concentrate on what I wanted to.

The bible is an instruction book on how to raise children.  Jesus Christ proved to us that he would honor his father in all ways no matter what it was going to cost.  He showed us what to do and told us even.  That is my own opinion and is able to express it here in this great nation of freedom.

Our children including me rely on the parents or our own government to provide for our needs.  In the last 40 to fifty years many have not been too been taught to be responsible or self-sufficient.  We can play the blame game but it is our own fault.  I mean we are the ones who choose be a parasite or a bum.  So basically living in the land of freedom we are a bunch of spoiled little brats that cry like little babies if we don’t get what we want, but not everybody.  We just do not use the disciplines that we use to.

I do not have any children of my own.  I can only imagine on how it would make you feel on seeing them cry.  I can hardly bear it seeing my niece cry because of not getting what she wants and she is only four or five.  So I do see why my mother and dad give into her wants.  It does affect you in the long run.  They end up pouting to get their desires rather it is from the government or family.  I am to giving to have any children.  I thank God for being childless because I could not handle a child.

The discipline that I received when I was young has taught me to discipline myself in the task that I have been through.  I could use the sympathy and gripe about what I don’t have.  But I want to be known as a responsible man so the wisdom that is written in the book of Proverbs chapter thirteen verses twenty four and twenty five it reads, “He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.   The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.”  It may confuse some but it backs up what I am saying to.  I see what he has said in the bible.

After my step father punched me.  I never forgave him of that and despised everything about him for years.  That devastated me and it made me afraid of being around him.  I still do not believe any child should be treated like that.  A spanking is different; no fully grown man needs should punch a child.  There always will be cases were the man of the household will abuse the discipline.  But if I was never taught the discipline in my youth I would not have made the progress that I have.

I have forgiven him and put it in the past.  It happened but never the less time will go on.  In the book of Ephesians chapter six verses two, three, and four it reads, “Honor your father and mother, “Which is the first commandment with promise: “That it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” And you fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the lord.

I got out on my own when I was seventeen.  For me it started out with beer and before long it was weed (marijuana) then within a year cocaine, acid or anything that would get you high.  I ended up going back down in the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas.  What can I say it was easy to get drugs there?  To cut a long dramatic story short because we all have our own sad story.  On the night of December twenty fifth nineteen ninety -six I regained consciences in the middle of February nineteen ninety-seven.

I have been through many trials and tribulations since then.  For years I have tried to figure out why God would do this to one of his children.  No matter what I tried I just could not fool him.  He knows what you’re going to do before you.  I got down on my knees so many times begging him to cut me some slack.  You can’t even bargain with him.  You talk about being frustrated.  That is an understatement though.

I finally understood something that he showed me and told all of us through the bible.  He cares for each of us.  He does not want force his will on you.  In America we chose to fallow his will not others a long time ago.  He wants the best for each and every one of us but we are the ones that are trying to seek our own will and not his.  Over seventy-three percent of Americans call ourselves Christians but yet we are the one giving in to our own desires.

He does not care what the denomination is or he would have mentioned that somewhere in the bible.  However Christ Jesus did say in John chapter five verses twenty four, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”  Like I said before, do not trust my word or another man’s word on what was spoken.  Look it up and study it yourself.

America use to raise a good hard working responsible person.  The race, ethnicity, or religion was not the factor.  Generation after generation our responsibility has dissipated.  In my eyes we are relying on the government more and more.  Parents are the ones who teach their own child how to be responsible and have the fundamentals in life and the schools are to teach the academics and how interact with others in life.

Our own government has made it so the school teacher teaches your own child how to look at things.  Even if it is the exact opposite of how you see it.  I my opinion, that would bring conflict between both of you later on.

For instance you might have a conservative viewpoint but your children’s teachers may have a much more liberal point of view.  In today’s busy, society many times our children’s teachers exert a greater influence on our children’s upbringing and perspectives on life than we as parents do.  Many children spend much more time in school their teachers’ guidance than they do at home under their parent’s guidance.  In the majority of households in today’s society, both parents work full-time jobs.  Often times this translates into less time spent parenting thus leaving more of our children’s views and upbringing to the teachers and the school system than to the family unit.

With that being said you can see the confusion in the newer generations.   I can see why the newer generation is lacking in responsibility.  We deserve it because we have not kept up with the teachings of Christ Jesus.  He did warn us in the book of Matthew chapter sixteen verses six in the bible that we use to take heed to because he even said, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”  He was not talking about making the dough rise.  He was warning us about the gradual change of the Pharisees and Sadducees slash politicians.

America has a generation after generations full of irresponsible adults that have no ambition to work or for work.  They just have their grubby paws or hands out to be taken care of.  We use to be a nation that worked together and help one another.   Look at the world today.  We have turned the United States of America into the United Moochers of America.  And you wonder why we have a bad economy.

Time to take your blinders off boy’s and girl’s and look in the mirror because that is the real enemy.  I am to blame as well.  Are we going to allow our many mistakes to continue and let the past rip us apart?  It is not only your reflection tearing away but it is also hurting the one or many that looks up to you as a role model.

It is hard to believe that somebody will look at a handicap person as a good role model.  I mean I would never think that I would have any admiration somebody in a wheelchair and his name is Dezzy Kent.  But now that I have been in one myself I know anguish you go through in life.

I could not handle all the anguish.  God gave me the determination and courage to do the things I had to do.  The more I think about it I was delivered from heaven to a great family.  Sure I thought at times I would never accomplish anything in life.  I knew through the things I went through since the day I was born.  I know now that everything has a purpose and have accomplished a great deal.

Take drugs for instance.  I did love getting high.  I guess it was that sudden adrenalin rush you get from the first time.  Do not tease yourself because it takes more each time, then pretty soon you get addicted.  You will think you can control it at first.  But it is baiting you up just like the leaven of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and politicians.  Leaven causing gradual change not to make (dough) rise.

Some people can control addiction problem that drugs cause.  I couldn’t do it and tried to fool myself saying I could.  They do alter your mind that is a fact.  I know that it controlled me and that caused me to commit crime and have extreme sexual urges.

I was blessed not catching any of the sexual transmitted diseases that are being spread around America like wild fire.  I don’t know how pot affects others but it made me a couch potato with no ambition.  I have enough problems now and still lacking some in that department.  I have to take responsibility for my own actions and stay away from it.

We all have tragedies that happen to us or to a loved one.  They affect many of us and also affect the ones around us.  I do know that drugs or alcohol seems to make them worse.    You have a simple choice to make and that is how you want it to affect you and the people around you.   A negative or positive outcome, that is on you.

It is my own personal responsibility to be the best man I possibly can.  I do not want to be held accountable for what I say and do in the eyes of God.  According to my personal perspective everybody that calls themselves a Christen will be held accountable for their own teaching.  We teach others through our actions and words no matter what language you use.  I’m sure you have heard the term that actions speak louder than words.
