“You’re different from all the people around here,” he admitted, and this part wasn’t a lie, “but I think you’re right where you belong. Sometimes you just feel alone, but you’re not.”
“Yes,” I breathed. “But sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I was surrounded by people like me.”

Scarlett Jay Vanessa Castillo has ruled as princess of Messenia all her life, a vast kingdom just west of Peru. Living as a pampered princess all her life, Scarlett couldn’t help but feel a little out of place. Her powers were stronger than any other teenager her age, and she was the complete opposite of her self-centered, egotistical, Barbie doll of a sister. Scarlett was always sneaking out to the forest to visit the woodland creatures and steal some time to herself away from the hectic life of being royalty. One night Scarlett wakes to the sound of struggling outside her window. Two trespassers had been caught. This was nothing new, as people were always trying to get to her—though she couldn’t imagine why. After dreaming of one of the boys caught intruding, Scarlett develops a weak spot for the two boys, which is why she has to put a stop to her father’s plan to sentence them to death.
In a troublesome kingdom where nothing goes right, Scarlett struggles to solve the countless mysteries around her—like why she’s having nightmares and causing mayhem more often than usual, and why Jack—the intruder in her dream whom she later falls for—is off sneaking around. Scarlett demands to know the truth, without realizing it's exactly what she doesn’t want to know.

***I just started randomly writing this story because I got really bored last summer and I got into it and wanted to finish it... Well their might be some errors because it's only the rough draft, and keep in mind i'm only 14. :)

Very good:) They're sweet together. If it wasn't for that issue I mentioned before with the era, this book would be a full five stars in my opinion. You have an excellent writing style and a great talent for writing, especially for your age. Never quit writing--I'd be extremely surprised if you didn't end up getting published some day:)

This is very good, but a tad confusing. I can't figure out whether this is supposed to be in more modern times, or set back in time. You talk about balls and torches and gowns and such, yet you also mention watches and clocks and short skirts.

Don't get me wrong, though. I'm loving this. It had an intriguing plot and is quite engrossing. I'm loving it so far. You just need to elaborate more on what the situation with the time period is. If it's meant to be in a different world, which I think it is, then explain more into that so we won't be as confused.

The one you have as Alec is Alex Pettyfer. He's an actor, not a model;) though he does look like one... He's too attractive for his own good.
