She continues. She fills the hole in her chest with obsessions of the momentócooking, books, painting her nails. She swallows the swirling pit of guilt as it rises to her throat. She replaces the longing to call with television dramas. She learns to take the long way home, instead of passing his house. She ignores him when he sits on her bed at night, when he follows her in the mirrors. She ignores him when he breezes past her on the sidewalk, when he kicks leaves at her feet.
She moves on.
