She searched far and wide, to find the perfect being on which to place the crown -

Yeah, that's not how it happened. Really, the one who can do the job gets the job, after all is said and done, plotted and schemed, twisted and turned. Through magical accidents, murder attempts, and mysterious allies, plots are unravelled and a kingdom is formed.
