Friends

Friends,

They surround me:

I smile at their jokes, Laugh when needed.

Anything so they do not realize I am wearing a mask.

I would never want them to question me.

I dont know if my composure would hold.

The fact that a simple smile can fool them all,

makes me feel empowered.

No one notices the pain I hide behind my eyes.

I begin to believe none care to.

Everything I tell them is lies.

I'm just tired.

Oh nothing, I'm just sick.

I'm fine.

It's pathetic how easily they are fooled.

I know if they discovered,

all I wanted to do

was to watch myself bleed...

They would ditch me.

But then again,

What if I was to Isolate myself?
