The Worst of my Poetry
Author: Jordan Yates

Chapter 27
Mom, Don't You See?

Look in the mirror
What do you see?
Just an image
Of what you could be

Blown with the wind
Killin' off whatever is in your path
Isn't it clear?
It's the silent killer!

Mom, do you see?
Mom, don't you get it?
It's killing us all!
You're smoking us out

Is it not obvious?
Is it not clear?
It's a drug
Slowly eating you away

Cancer, social exclusion
Where do you draw the line?
Is it where you end?
Is it when you die?

You're killing us all
You say you are going to stop
Maybe next week
And maybe not

You'll miss out on life
Ours, and yours
Put it down!
Throw it away!

Don't buy more!
Don't use it again!
The answer seems simple
The way is so hard

You have the support
You have the technology
All you have to do is try
All you have to do is want it!

Cross your fingers
Dive in
Hold on tight
Good luck to you

It may be a death wish
It may be a new leaf
Withered up and dead
Or just fallen with new life

It may cast you away
But push on regardless
It's your only hope
It's the only way
