Chapter 6
The Dead Battery

1hour Later

Smitty: DON'T YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING A LITTLE FAST?!

Vonotar: NO SIR! Have you looked out there?!

[The camera pans back to hundreds of walking-dieing surrounding their HMWVV...]

Boyd: Hes right battle!

Smitty: Still...

Vonotar: SIR! Permission to run over the “dumbies”?

Smitty: “Dumbies”? I like it...BUT, we don't wanna just kill random people if its JUST an infection. NOT if they can be saved...

Vonotar: TOO LATE SIR!

*Vonotar rams into about 5 bodies in the street*

Smitty: HEY!

Boyd: BATTLE! WE'RE SURROUNDED! WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE! ITS US OR THEM! WE ALREADY KILLED OUR OWN!

Smitty: THAT WAS DIFFERENT! THEY WEREN'T PEOPLE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTING!

Vonotar: With all due respect sir, do you THINK THEY GIVE A DAMN about us now?

[Vonotar rams into another body, which splats across the windshield of the HMWVV. Boyd turns the windshield wiper knob....]

*A man is standing on the roof of a house waving his arms when he sees the military vehicle pass by*

Vonotar: Do we stop for him?

Boyd: We...don't have any weapons, besides your knife. Just leave him...

*Smitty grits his teeth and pounds the HMWVV window*

Damn this!

Vonotar: You know, if you hadn't told us to leave our phones on post...

Smitty: YEAH, I KNOW...Just...JUST KEEP DRIVING! Just get us back to post...

Vonotar: umm...sir...hate to trouble you again but...uhh...the battery JUST died!

Boyd: Are you SERIOUS?!

Vonotar: Does bread become toast?

Smitty: And We CAN'T slave it because we can't contact anyone. Great day this is!

Vonotar: It could be worse...

Smitty: HOW could it GET any worse?

We could be surrounded by dumbies who know how to unlock doors...

Smitty: That would require them to know how to get past a combat lock...

Boyd: I think, we need to formulate an EGRESS. We need to get out of here and fast. They will keep comin'. We can get out the gunner's hatch...

Smitty: Well, yeah, we could do that, but after we get out, then what? I read in a book once, they respond to noise. If we create a diversion, they'll more than likely go to it.

Vonotar: Well, the loudest noise maker we've got is now INOP.

[Smitty looks at Vonotar...]
