Chapter 18
That's What Love Is

After work, I had nothing to do, so I went back to Mac's (I can't call it home).

He was home, but, like usual, he said nothing to me, not even a "hey, Bam, how was your day?" nope. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

It sucked to know your friends hated you.

So, walking by him in the living room, I went up to the guest bedroom I was crashing in, and looked around at it. It looked like no one had ever lived in it or was ever going to.

The bed was perfectly made, no wrinkle, no warmth. The bedside table only held an indifferent clock and lamp, the closet had nothing in it, the vanity had only a vase with a fake rose in it, a hairbrush, and lipstick, and the floor was spotless, not even littered with socks. The only thing noticeably different about the space was the duffel bag by the door.

My bags were packed and ready to go.

With a sigh, I found myself a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote:

I hope you guys are all happy now, without me, but it's fine with me, as long as everyone else is satisfied. I'm leaving town and finding some place else to live, probably on the street, but it's cool things couldn't get any worse than that. Thanks Mac for letting me crash at your house, thanks Hayden for being there during that...episode? Ahaha, maybe it was a phase like you guys all thought. Thanks Blue for being a...good brother? And Jude...Well, this is simple but important, I love you, Jude-ie, maybe I'll see you soon or maybe I'll let you off with a clean break, but I want you all to know that no matter how much you thought it was wrong for me and Jude to be together it felt right. You see love does this to people, even someone like me, it changes you until well, you're a totally different person than when you began. I hope you all find that one person that makes you happy and I hope he or she gives you a fuckin' run for your damn money, because that's what love is; something you can't escape, something you hate, something wonderful, something pleasurable, something...absolutely and undeniably delicate and beautiful. That's what love is.

Bye guys...love always,

Alabama.

Folding the paper, I wrote on the back "get everyone together before opening" and I slipped the note onto the pillow, shouldered my duffel bag, and walked right past Mac who seemed to not even realize my presence.

Something was aching deep in my chest, maybe it was the newly formed heart I had, or maybe it was the after effects of the end of something good.

** Sorry this is so short, I just needed to get a quick chapter in before I leave for my grandfather's wedding, haha, the next chapter will be posted in another person's POV, probably tomorrow:) Hope you enjoyed, leave your comment below! <333 **
