Chapter 25
Luke

Sunday came by quicker than I expected.

There was a knock on the door of my room about eight o'clock. I opened the door. Jonah was standing alone, with a bag over his shoulder, looking at his feet, rubbing the carpet with the toe of his shoe. "Hi," He said, not looking up at me. I stepped aside wordlessly to let him in, then locked the door behind him. "So, what d'you wanna do? We've got plenty of time so I guess..."

"Jonah. I'm up here, love," I said, tilting his head back gently so he was looking into my eyes. He gasped inwardly, then smiled.

"Lukey?" He said, touching my face as if he couldn't believe it was really me. "I don't...Blain said it was...Lewis someone..."

"Lewis Marks," I grinned. "My bosses name. I wasn't really sure if you'd told him my name or not..."

"D'you think I'm daft, Luke?" He laughed softly. "I told him your name was James Mulligan. He was one of the kids who picked on me in the last Home. Sorry about that, babe. Just the first name that popped into my head."

"It's okay, sweetie," I gave him a cuddle. I couldn't help noticing that he was slightly thinner than when he left me. He smelled bad too; he obviously hadn't washed in a few days. "D'you want to get a shower, baby?"

"Yeah, please," He smiled. I took him into the bathroom and showed him how to work the shower. I couldn't help staring as he stripped and got into the shower. He grinned at me, his hair flattened to his head by the water. "Are you gonna get in with me?"

"Er... no," I shook my head. "I got in before."

"Oh," He said, looking disappointed. "Right. Okay then."

"Hey, don't look so sad," I said, stroking his cheek. "I'll get in with you in the morning, if you like?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'd like that," He grinned, then leaned forwards and kissed me with his now wet lips. "I love you."

"I love you too," I said, smiling. "Now come on, sweetheart. You get a wash."

"I know, I need one," He grinned, kissing my forehead. "I'm a stinky baby."

"Seriously, Jonah, get in that shower," I said. He looked a little worried at first. Then his eyes trailed down my body to my pants and he laughed.

"Sorry about that," He said. "I'll sort that out for you later if you want."

"You don't have to do anything you don't want to, sweetheart," I told him, as he started to lather himself up with shower gel.

"I do want to, Lukey," He smiled. "I loved sleeping with you back at your flat, sweetheart."

"I loved it too, hon." I smiled back at him. "I'm just gonna go through in the other room for a while, okay?"

"Okie dokie," He said, smiling very cutely at me. "Love you."

"I love you too," I replied, leaving to go into the bedroom.

I'd gone out earlier on in the day and bought what Jonah had told me where his favourite things; soft cotton pyjamas, fuzzy slippers, strawberry and vanilla tea, raspberry yoghurt, tuna and sweetcorn sandwhiches, strawberry and banana smoothie and a soft white jumper, similar to one I had that he said he loved. I laid everything out for him coming back through, then sat in the chair next to the bed, reading and waiting for him to come back.

When Jonah walked into the room he was wearing just a towel wrapped around his waist. He looked at me, rubbing his damp hair with another towel he had in his hand. He looked at the bed, wrinkling his nose. "Lukey bear, what is all this?"

"You're favourite things," I shrugged. "Like you said, we've plenty of time. If you want us to sleep together, that's fine, but we've got hours to get to it. Might as well relax a little first."

"Oh, Lukey!" He flung himself at me, sitting in my lap and flinging his arms around my neck. He buried his face into my shoulder. "I love you." It was muffled against the cloth of my tee-shirt. "What've I ever done to deserve you?"

"Don't say things like that, baby," I kissed the top of his head. "I love you too." I lifted his head gently and saw that, despite his wide grin his eyes were wet. "Your so beautiful."

"No I'm not. You are, though," He said, leaning forwards so our foreheads were touching. He rubbed his nose against mine. "Eskimo kisses!" He said, giggling.

"You're so cute when you're happy," I observed smiling.

"I'm not just happy, I'm loved up too," He said, leaning against me. "I love you so much, Lukey."

"I love you too," I nuzzled his neck. "Now come on. You'll catch your death, wet and naked like that. Get your jarmies on."
