Poetry From The Weakened Soul
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 3
Phone Call: Part III

It's a triple-threat
And there are no regrets
Happiest man in the world
Is what I was
But you thought you could
Break me down with this
Dropped another bombshell
Threw another twist into the story
You're not going to be with either of us
That's what you said
And I expected something to break
Deep down inside
But it never did
So I accepted it all
But you were so quick to fall
Didn't see it coming
You went to suicide, dead-straight away
And I can't find a reason why I should care
When we started to fight
I was just dumb-founded
What had happened to my baby?
I had given her everything
Yet she wanted someone else
Couldn't even tell
What the hell
Was going on
But still I held onto her
Even if she didn't love me anymore
The second she realized I was leaving
That I couldn't hold on to
What wasn't even mine
You wanted me again
Is that all you ever want?
Is that all you ever need?
So I guess I'm moving on
Can't hold on to what is gone
And I won't be the one
To sit here
Waiting for you
