Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 177
Get Away

My heart's heavy with a couple thousand scars
Various wounds rigid and indifferent to each other
Thousands of tiny pins and pricks, hooks and chains
Tied around my candy-shaped organ, tearing inside

Whatever has happened to me tonight
Won't be fixed, not with a thousand suns
The time that tries to slip outside my mind
I need someone to cure my pain somehow

I feel I should bleed it out like a million tiny slashes
I don't know how to be any better than who I am
Forgive me or hate me, I won't leave this place
Love me or care for me, I'm still destined to die

Desert me, please, that's all I need from you
Your face is like a two-tone disaster of pain
Leave my life, get the hell away, I don't want you
Leave my life, throw everything away, get away from me
