Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 169

Lucidly, fluidly, acidic, venom of a prison dog
Junkyard, tool shed, windowpane, everything
Civilization in the darkness of the lambs
Clouded skies and dreary nights without a second chance

Explanations, insubordination, like a careless mutt
Quiver in the streets without a second thought
Hiding inside the blockade or underneath the Earth's skin
Bleeding like a diamondback without it's sin

Getting colder beneath your gaze, just one more time
Lost inside the uselessness of what was once together
Empty ice within a glass shelf of lost intentions
Ballfields of drenched tears for all of these years

Numb, wretched, putrid breath with no memories
Nightmares of another world without any type of scare
Scars are covering the womb, no intentions left unfulfilled
Erratic movement, feinting light, fake eyes and a fighting night
