Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems

Chapter 146
Winter Poem

There's a snowman
Blowing in the wind
A man encased in snow
Waiting for his love
He's been waiting
Throughout the blizzard
For love's warm touch
To bring him back to life
But she has left him
And his limbs are weak
He's starved himself
They look like sticks
And break in the breeze
He's covered in snow
But he can't feel the cold
It's like he's numb
All around inside himself
Every night, it gets worse
He's getting scared
Will she come back?
He feels dead inside
And the wind blows him away
He's wearing a coat
Its tails fluttering behind him
He's clutching his hat
And holding on tight
With his stick-like arms
Over his face
The little glimmer
Of hope in his eyes
Seems to fade slowly
As he dies
Forever and eternally
He becomes a snowman
Waiting out the edge of a cliff
Waiting for his love
To return and bring him
Back to life
