Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 133
Staring Down

Inspired while I was looking at the water drip down my bathroom mirror. WRITTEN IN A NOTEBOOK Sunday, September 5th, 2010

STARING DOWN

It's like I'm a water drop

Skating down the pristine surface of a mirror

Leaving behind this crooked trail of deception

The gentle force of the air pushing through me

Propelling to my inevitable destiny

It's all but fate nothing more

Slowly I approach The Edge

I've been waiting for this moment

Where I drop off the mirror

And horrifically splatter on the floor

I feel myself dangling in the air

Ready to go with a smile on my face

But part of me clings to the mirror

Instead of the quick end I wished for

I slowly wither away down in agony
