YOUR HAND

Time began in a little cradle

I was a baby, couldn't walk

Moving around, a little boy

But life never truly began

For fourteen years I walked

Alone, discouraged, yearning

I needed a hand to pull me up

Who would've thought

Your hand

The one that pulled me up

The one that saved my life

The one that made me live

And so life began

The days feeling like forever

I was so happy,

I was blind to it all

Then suddenly, your hand

Let go

Your hand

The one that pulled me up

The one that saved my life

The one that made me live

Broken and scared

Other hands reached down

Tried to take me up

I took a few of them

But none of them were

Good enough

And when your hand

Finally reached back into the abyss

I spit on it, crushed it

Your hand

The one that pulled me up

The one that saved my life

The one that made me live

Was gone forever

Alone in my dark abyss

Chosen to be caged

I was so alone, cold again

This time no hand

Came to my rescue

The coldness spread throughout my face

My bones weak, I almost died

Then something pressed against me

Your lips

The ones that I would give my life just to kiss

The ones that made me want to live again

The ones that I could never betray

Promise they won't leave

Your hand

Your lips

Everything about you

Just makes me want to

Be there every step of the way

And go through all hell

Just to see you smile

To feel your hand

And to feel your lips press against mine

Your hand

The one that pulled me up

The one that saved my life

The one that made me live

Is here forever
