Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 80
The Angel Returns

The poem that is and always will be my favorite "The Angel" is the type of poem I'd like to use to celebrate. Unfortunately, "The Angel" is way too good to be topped, at least by me. Another poet could easily generate a better poem. Anyway, trying and failing, I wanted to make a poem entitled "The Angel Returns" to celebrate having 81 chapters, and therefore placing myself just below Marshalg and Peter Andreas (I am still below Ella, however).

Anyway, this is what little I could get. WRITTEN IN A NOTEBOOK, WRITTEN AT SCHOOL Tuesday, August 24, 2010

On a calvary only the blind can see

Wearing wings of cancerous cysts

Carrying the harsh, dull blade of cellophane

The Angel Returns

His lust-filled onyx eye stares blankly

The scared stay hidden, obeying him

Weak and meager mankind fights the invisible angel

The regime, become too strong

For far too long
