Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 61
Holding Each Other

So I'm back. I'm feeling alive. I got the Aphrodite that I love back, even after I hurt her all those times. And I'm never going to let her go. In this poem, however, I decided to give her a different name. Beauty. WRITTEN IN A NOTEBOOK Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

HOLDING EACH OTHER

I flew on Hell's wings

Taking everyone I could

But what happened to me?

I lost my wings

Oh fuck! Someone save me!

I fell to the bottom of hell

But in a small chasm below me

I can hear the silent cries of Beauty

Gripping tightly her blade, I stare in awe

What could cause one of her caliber,

Her Beauty, to take part in such

Savage self-mutilation?

I pry the blade from Beauty

No more pain, I promise her

Not while she's in my arms

We're going to come out of Hell

Holding Each Other
