Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 42
Your Starry Eyes

Me and a very close friend of mine wanted to write a poem together. We might write more. This one is for our Aphrodites. We had fun putting it together, I think, and he was a great help, I'm glad I even got to work with him. His style is amazing, to say the least, and I'm amazed he wanted to work with someone as lowly as me. Anyway, August 12th, 2010

When I think of you
I'm at a loss of words
I stare into your starry eyes
So dark, crisped, twinkling in the light
Like a cat staring at the moon
They will always be my sanctuary
When I'm scared, when I'm sad
They shed light on my dreary life
Letting me find my way out of the dark abyss
Life was nothing but pain, numbness
Before I finally saw your starry eyes
Shoving rays of beautiful light
Through the darkest of caves and pits
And by the end of the day
When i rest my weary head
The only thing in my mind
Is seeing those eyes once more
