Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 39
Sometimes I Wish

This is a bit odd. It looks like two poems in one, and I think it might be, but I still count it as one. Anyway, I messed up recently. And I think all the drama I'm going through is starting to make my poetry bad. Anyway, Tuesday August 10, 2010

SOMETIMES I WISH

Sometimes
I wish I had the perfect rose
Just to give it to you, to show I cared
I'd walk across the world to give you it

Sometimes
I just wish I could be with you
To see only you and tell you how much I care
To hold you, to be able to feel your touch

Sometimes
I wish I had the perfect way
To tell you, there's nobody quite like you
So you would know I could never leave

Sometimes
I wish I was the perfect person
So that I would finally understand
How I could ever deserve you

I wish I hadn't chosen to say those words
I didn't mean them, but I said them
Now nothing I say seems true
And sometimes I just wish for you

I wish I could take what I said back
I wish I could rewind time and stop myself
I wish I could understand myself
I wish I could show you I'm not lying
I wish I could know you were safe
