The Worst of my Poetry

Chapter 14
Swept Away By Love

Everything revolves

Around the moments I see you

Though they are few

I cherish them

And the times we email

And instant message

I never stop thinking about

Just you and your words

Even though sometimes

I think you don’t like me back

I remember those times we spent

Just messing around

And I know, deep down

That it’s true

And if I saw you again

I’d give you a hug

We’d talk for awhile

Catching up

Or sit in silence

Enjoying each other’s company

And if it’s a competition

For you, and your love

I would do all I could to win

Just to be with you

You’re all I think of

And the only guy I’ve loved

Nessie says you can’t love

Until you’re engaged or married

But it’s something more

Than just another crush

When have I been a klutz

Or an idiot around another guy?

Never, and it’s true

I really feel something for you

So, if you ever find this

And you know who you are

Read and know I mean

Every word I say

And know that

While I write this mushy-gushy poem

I’m listening to the Backstreet Boys

Why does that matter?

“I’m swept away by love”

They said it right

And it’s true, too

So, you might think this is creepy

And sorry if you do

But I really like you

And I hope you like me too

(Of course, I’m pretty sure you do)
