Chapter 14
Waves

HERE I SIT BY THE OCEAN

LISTENING TO ITS SOUNDS

WONDERING AT ITS BEAUTY.

          Seaguls gayly flying overhead,

           Gliding upon the water,

then off to the rocks withi ts food.

As the waves swirl gently about my feet

beating steadily upon the rocks,

i marvel at the peace that is here.

The air so fresh, so salty,

the soft breeze of the wind,

makes me wonder at its peace.

as the tide comes shyly up to me

          teasing me and fading back,

only to come back with greater force next time.

Each time it comes a bit closer

shyly testing me out, wanting

to engulf me in its wonder, TEASING me with its peace

The stars twinkle softly overhead,

the clouds cover the moon.

the only sound is the soft steady beat of the waves,

why did i never sit down

          to listen to your wonder?

To marvel at your beauty,

and take comfort in your peace?

i’m only glad that i have the time now
