Piercing The Sky, A Book of My Poems
Author: Neil Evans

Chapter 5
Final Thank You

I'm trying to get less morbid with my work. Maybe that's for the best. I've been encouraged that my newer poems are better than the older, so I've continued to write. Here's number five in my small list, I call it, Final Thank You

I'm not alive

I'm not quite dead

As I lie here crying in my bed

My vision is leaving me

But that's okay because I don't want to see

Not if it means looking at you

I don't want to see your face

I don't want you in this place

This is my final thank you
