Who you are in Christ
Author: Kylie Welch

Chapter 6
Never think negatively about yourself

You are a work in progress and are being brought from Glory to Glory…

You are God’s workmanship - you are not anyone else's “work-in-progress” but Gods.

Therefore, we could be insulting His work when we put ourselves down and

think negatively about ourself.  It hurts the heart of God because you are precious to him.

There is a very descriptive word -  Paradigms – a paradigm for a fish is the water

around it.  The water is such a part of it’s life and environment that the fish doesn’t

notice the water and takes it for granted.  We tend to be like that also.  We’ve grown

up in certain environments and most of the time we don’t even notice the atmosphere.

Negative talk, put downs, verbal abuse and finding the negative in everything –

all of these things are a part of our environment.

Maybe the people we had grown up with had a tendency to worry.

If so, there’s a natural tendency for us to grow up to worry too.

There’s a lot of teachings in Proverbs which may help you realise that some of

The Paradigms in your life are not biblical.  Encourage yourself in what you learn

from the Word.  As Christians, we have the power of the Holy Spirit to help

us out of the rut of negativity and into the powerful joy of thinking and speaking

overcoming, abundant thoughts and words.
